George Holley

Evangelist

I grew up in Gallipolis, OH, was saved at the age of 12, and sanctified as a teen at the Crown City Wesleyan Church in Crown City, OH.

I am a 1975 graduate of Gallia Academy High School in Gallipolis, OH.  I attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV and Point Pleasant Bible School & College in Point Pleasant, WV.

I met Pattie DeVault, a student of the school, when the Bible School choir was invited to sing at a youth revival at my home church.  We were married in 1977 and have two sons, Aaron & Matthew, both of which live in the Columbus, OH area.

Early in our marriage, I worked for Federal Mogul Corp. in Gallipolis from 1977-1992.  In 1982, I answered the call of God to preach, was issued a local preachers license and served two years as a lay minister in my home church under the mentorship of Rev. Fred Shockley.  I served as an assistant pastor at the First Wesleyan Church in Huntington, WV in 1984.

Following the retirement of Rev. Shockley in 1985, I accepted the call to return to the Crown City Wesleyan Church as their pastor.  I was bi-vocational for the first seven years, then in 1992, I quit my factory job and went full-time into pastoral ministry. Pattie and I served a total of 17 wonderful years of ministry at the Crown City Wesleyan Church.

In 2002, after much prayer, I felt led of the Lord to be a full-time evangelist.  With only one meeting scheduled and no savings in the bank, we stepped out in obedience by faith.  God began to open doors and to provide in ways that we could have never imagined.  To this date, we have never had to call and ask for a meeting.  The rest of the story has been a tremendous journey of seeing what faith in God can do.  We firmly believe, faith is not a leap in the dark, but a stepping in the light.

I was ordained in the Wesleyan Church in 1991, but I am available for revivals, camp meetings, and other special services to all groups and denominations who are interested in hearing the message of Jesus Christ that offers forgiveness, cleansing, and hope.

There are no set fees or charges for our services.  We would be glad to come for a love offering plus travel expenses to include round trip mileage, food, & hotel accommodations.

Please keep in mind that this is our livelihood, and it provides our main source of income.  We receive no financial support from any denomination, which means we must pay our own housing, pension, taxes, health insurance, and other incidental expenses from what is received in the love offerings.

Your thoughtful consideration and generosity in these matters is what makes it possible for us to stay on the road.

Together for souls,

George Holley, Jr.
